Dialexia Shows VoIP Softswitch at ITEXPODialexia exhibited their Dial-Gate VoIP Softswitch and billing solution at the recent ITEXPO in Los Angeles. The company also showcased their Portal-Gate at the event. Portal-Gate is a SOAP XML oriented application interface to Dialexia’s VoIP softswitch and billing offering that enables an ITSP to build powerful online applications that run on the VoIP softswitch. Portal-Gate makes it simple for the non-technical administrator to add and edit content including service plans and long distance rates. Via a browser-based interface, administrator can add special promotions and announce new offerings. Dial-Gate is a Web-based SIP / VoIP softswitch and billing server for both VoIP networks and the PSTN. Its programmable routing intelligence and support of network-calling plans can be assigned to endpoints in order to filter calls. The VoIP softswitch translates standard telephone numbers into their corresponding IP addresses and looks for available gateways or domains to place calls through the PSTN. One exciting development enabled by Dialexia’s VoIP softswitch, is the ability for service providers to offer subscribers a new calling plan that will work in conjunction with their cellular phone plan. The Dial-Gate VoIP softswitch also enables increased emergency service capabilities by integrating with the E911 provider’s API, In the case of partner Dash 911, the E911 settings have been amended by allowing the subscriber specific emergency settings for each SIP user. The Dial-Gate VoIP softswitch platform also features a SOAP XML Web Services API, which enables integration of the softswitch Application Server with a client's application Web portals. Mohamed El-Mohri, CTO at Dialexia Communications believes that service providers can benefit greatly from the changes to the company’s VoIP softswitch. “These improvements have been developed with the emphasis on enabling service providers to easily make available powerful and appealing services, which provide a means for increased revenues,” he said.
